GCAA Intramurals Off To Strong Start
The GCAA intramural program kicked off its second weekend on Sat Dec 8th with participation levels at all time highs. The 2nd grade combination clinic/games have been extremely well received with our 2nd graders now playing real games. At present, the GCAA has an outstanding K-1 clinic, over 43 intramural teams and 17 travel teams now in action. In addition to our intramural games, we have arranged grade based Rising Stars clinics on Monday nights. See the GCAA website. www.gc-aa.com, for more details and dates. Rising Stars is a youth basketball association that provides in depth fundamental basketball instruction. Please look for GCAA intramural standings and weekly travel summaries in the GC News every Friday. We will end our season with March Madness Playoffs starting March 1st. Some of our divisions are now jammed packed with some age groups comprised of 10 teams with 12 player rosters. In addition to strong participation levels, the quality of our basketball games are at very high standards as scoring is up with a few of our 5th/6th grade boys games totaling 100 points cumulatively in recent weeks. The skills we taught at an early stage are now allowing kids to rack up the points and enjoy the great game of basketball. Join and support a winning program, the GCAA, serving the youth of Garden City since 1955.
