Awesome Year For Pink Ponies
      The Pink Ponies had an awesome year. The whole team worked hard and showed great sportsmanship. Their coaches couldn't be more proud. See you in the spring.

Rising Tennis Star
      Bianca Posa, a 12-year-old honor student at St. Anne's, has been ranked the number one tennis player on Long Island for 12-year-olds by the United States Tennis Association. Bianca practices four to five days a week. Her coach Fahad Malik of Long Beach Tennis recognized her talent when she was only 9 years old.

Trojan Football Alumnus Plays In Bowl Game
      After completing their first winning season since 1995 and finishing with a 6-4 record, the Gettysburg College Bullets made their first postseason appearance since 1985, when the Bullets advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Division III Championship.

TMA Father & Son Football Classic
      On Saturday November 24 th the TMA hosted the 11 th annual Father & Son Football Classic. Many thanks to all the families that helped set up the event as well as all our valued sponsors. We raised $5300 that will go to the Garden City TMA for our kids.

GC Girl's Lacrosse
      As a reminder, girls in grades 7 and 8 who play on the Middle School team are also permitted to play in the Ram's program. On the 7th grade level, the division follows US Lacrosse Youth Rules which includes "Level A" modified checking. This year our 8th grade program will continue playing in a US Lacrosse approved pilot program, which permits full checking.

Flash Finish Season Undefeated And Untied
      On November 17, the GU10 Garden City Flash finished a perfect season, beating the Franklin Square Lightning 5-1 at Sewanhaka High School.Although the Lightning proved to be big, fast and adept at clearing the ball, consistent pressure from forwards Katherine Galzerano, Nicole Leto, Julia McGuire and Katie Muldoon kept the ball in the Franklin Square end and eventually paid off.

FC New York Takes Second Place
      The newly formed U-13 FCNY (Futball Club of New York) is a reincarnation of the NOGA Premier U-12 Team from Long Island that defied all odds and won the Empire Cup in Albany last July. They represent a cross-section of Long Island communities and are a rainbow of ethnic, racial and cultural diversities.

Blazers Fire Up Against Syosset Strikers
      To true fans of soccer, a nil-nil draw is an exciting game, and the U-12 Blazers delivered plenty of excitement on November 17, in their last game of the fall season. In the first half, defenders Reed Bonvissuto, Aidan Logan and Luke Zeccola were relentless in protecting goal keeper Patrick Mohan, who successfully snatched up any shot that threatened the Garden City goal.

Sparks Finish In Top 5 Of Long Island Division One
      The Sparks (GU-12) completed a successful first season in Long Island's Division One by finishing in the top half of the Division. Having competed in Nassau Division One the past several seasons, the Sparks knew that their jump up to LI Division One would be a challenge.

Garden City Pythons Fall Baseball Roundup
      The U-9 Garden City Pythons travel baseball team completed a very successful fall season. Exciting baseball was played by everyone and resulted in a 6-3 record. The pitching staff was anchored by Connor Molloy, Timothy Dehler and Michael Goulard. The three showcased a winning combination of power and finesse in each of their outings.

      The Garden City Athletic Association (GCAA) Intramural basketball program starts Saturday December 1st and will run up to and including March 15, 2008. Team assignments have been made. All intramural players should have been contacted. Clinic players are not contacted, just report at St Pauls at 8:00am for the clinics.

GCHS Cheerleaders Head To Cheer Competitions
      Football season may be over, but the Garden City High School cheerleading squads are still going strong. The varsity and the junior varsity squads are both busy training to compete in several competitions in December and January, including two Long Island Cheerleading Coaches Association compe-titions.

Girls Varsity Cross Country
      The Garden City High School Girls Varsity Cross Country team finished another outstanding season by placing 2nd in the Class A Division and 6th in the County. The team lead by seniors Maddie Adams (5th place overall) and Brooke Senken (7th place overall) ran strong at the Conference II meet at Bethpage State Park on October 28.

      The Garden City Wings Middle School Ice Hockey team split their last two games in November and compiled a 2 - 1 record during their second month of play of the '07 - '08 winter season. On November 10, 2007 the Wings faced off against the Syosset Braves.
