RotaCare Holds 14th Annual Caregivers Ball
From left:Dr. Russell Raskin and guest, Suzanne Boutros, Dr. Akram Boutros, Linda Shlofmitz, Dr. Richard Shlofmitz, Dianna Lantiotti and Dr. Antonio Madrid RotaCare's 14 th Annual Caregivers' Ball was held at Tam O'Shanter Golf Club in Brookville on Friday, October 19, with the theme of "Care to Dance." The attendees were surprised with an exhibition of ballroom dancing by dance professionals from New York City and enjoyed an evening of good food, fellowship and dancing.
RotaCare honored Richard A. Shlofmitz, M.D., director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Interventional Cardiology at St. Francis Hospital. Dr. Shlofmitz was named one of the "Top 100 Doctors" by "New York" magazine and was also recognized by the magazine in 2006 as one of the "Best doctors." Dr. Shlofmitz was presented with a Waterford crystal decanter by RotaCare and a proclamation from State Senator Kemp Hannon. He was also awarded with a Paul Harris Fellow, representing a donation of $1,000 in his name to The Rotary Foundation, by Eileen Gentilcore, president of RotaCare and a past district governor, and Sammy Hsiao, the current district governor of Rotary District 7250.

The mission is accomplished by a dedicated volunteer staff and the financial contributions of organizations and individuals committed to making health care available to all in need. RotaCare is a project of Rotary District 7250, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that welcomes volunteers, especially in the medical and pharmaceutical areas.
