Elected To Adelphi University Board
Frank Angello
Adelphi University has elected long-time banking executive Frank Angello '77 to its Board of Trustees. Mr. Angello most recently was chief financial officer of the Treasury and Securities Services (T&SS) unit of JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE: JPM). He joins 26 fellow Trustees, and will serve on the Board's Audit, Advancement, and Building and Grounds committees. Since 2005, Mr. Angello has been a member of the University's Expanded Advancement committee and a non-trustee member of the Audit committee.
"Frank Angello's extensive banking and business background makes him a valuable addition to the Board," said Adelphi University Board of Trustees Chairman Michael J. Campbell '65. "It is gratifying that he is bringing his expertise to such key committee assignments," he added.
"It is an honor to expand my participation on the Adelphi University Board," said Mr. Angello. "I am eager to support my alma mater's continued development."
At JPMorgan Chase, Mr. Angello developed a reputation as an inspirational leader, motivating staff to stretch to a greater level of performance. He created an organization in which people can channel their passion and creativity to be successful.
As chief financial officer (CFO) of the T&SS unit, Mr. Angello oversaw three divisional CFOs and a central team collectively employing 300 professionals globally with a $35 million budget that was streamlined under his tenure. Mr. Angello played a crucial role in four transformational mergers during his stewardship.
Prior to his CFO assignment, Mr. Angello was director of management information, overseeing financial activities for a diverse group of businesses. He previously served as department head for the Corporate Planning, Organizational Profitability and Cost Accounting Department and deputy sector controller for the retail banking sector. Earlier, he held a number of positions of increasing responsibility within the bank's financial management division.
Mr. Angello has been active in the banking industry as a Conference Board delegate and a Private Sector Council delegate. He has done numerous speaking engagements including PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Risk Waters Group. Additionally, he holds several leadership positions in his church, chairing the Pastoral Council, Finance Committee, and Marriage Preparation program.
Mr. Angello received his M.B.A. in finance from Pace University and a B.B.A. in 1977 from Adelphi University. Mr. Angello and his wife, Phyllis, have two adult sons, one of whom is currently attending Adelphi, and live in Woodbury.
