Church School Donates To Food Pantries
GC Community Church Sunday School students and food bags donated to local food pantries The Church School classes at the Garden City Community Church held their annual "Outreach and Giving" Day on Sunday, November 4. After a Children's Chapel Service, led by Youth Minister Ian Rottenberg, the students from ages 2 through 7th grade gathered together to assemble decorated shopping bags filled with holiday food items and staples. The message of the day was "giving to others" and through the donations of our church, we delivered more than 60 bags to the Long Island Council of Churches food pantries located on Long Island.
A number of 8th grade boys helped to organize the food and distribute the food as the kids went "shopping" to put together a holiday meal. Urgent pleas for food and staples have been sent out from the LICC and the Garden City Community Church was glad to have the means to help such a worthy cause.
