October Happenings In Saint Anne's School
      In a new school initiative, each grade is partnered with a ministry within Saint Anne's Parish to work hand in hand on a project or projects. This teaches the students the importance of giving back and opens up great communication and awareness between the school and all of the active ministries so busy at work.

GC Nursery School Off To A Great Start This Season
      The Garden City Nursery School opened its doors on September 10, 2007 to welcome both new and returning students parents for another school year. The children were visibly happy to be at school, meet their teachers and see their friends.

Safety First At Stratford School
     Joseph Ingegno, owner of GC Alarm Company, with Virginia McCavera's second-grade class at Stratford School in October. Mr. Ingegno's son Brian, a student in Miss McCavera's class, brought his dad to school to mark Fire Safety Month. Mr. Ingegno reviewed how to be safe during an emergency, and each child received a safety packet and DVD to take home.

      St. Lawrence University welcomes Chesney M. Randi of Garden City as a member of the class of 2011. Each freshman will participate in St. Lawrence University's innovative First-Year Program, an introduction to the liberal arts curriculum taught in residence halls by faculty teams. Clear writing and speaking skills are stressed, and careful advising is provided for all freshmen.

Tech Students Inducted Into Honor Society
      Eighty-two Nassau County teenagers from Nassau BOCES Joseph M. Barry Career & Technical Education Center (Barry Tech) were recently inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) during a special ceremony at the school. An additional 15 students maintained their eligibility from the previous year and were honored as well.
