Rotary Holds Fellowship Dinner
Rotarians gathered for a "photo-op."
This past August 22, members and guests of the Mineola-Garden City Rotary Club were hosted by Maureen and Cummin Clancy at a fellowship dinner at their home. It is the club's custom to hold seasonal fellowship dinners for members, their spouses and prospective members. Often the events are to welcome international business and professional teams representing Rotary's Group Study Exchange program.
In addition, Rotary's programs benefit Rotacare medical program for the needy; the Gift of Life cardiac surgery program; scholarships for local high school students; the Salvation Army's assistance to the needy; and the Youth Exchange Program. The club also annually honors an outstanding Garden City or Mineola citizen for community service.
The Mineola-Garden City Rotary Club meets throughout the year on Mondays at 12:15 p.m. at the Garden City Hotel. To learn more about Rotary, the club invites interested individuals to attend one of its weekly meetings. To arrange, please call Tom Gelsdorf, membership chair, at (516) 747-8224, or Tom Tierney, president, at (516) 747-5879.
