Scout Collects For Troops

Brian Way, Garden City High School Senior and Eagle Scout candidate from Boy Scout Troop 243 at St. Joseph's Church has announced his project for Eagle Scout Badge and he asking for your help. Items donated by you and collected by him were asked for by our troops in Iraq. Collection places are located at keyfood market place on Seventh St. in Garden City and at dollar tree at 662 Stewart Ave. in Garden City. The collection dates are Saturdays, October 13th, 20th, and 27th.

The items asked for are as follows - personal items: Razors, Toilet Paper, Shampoo and Conditioner, Deodorant, Soap, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Mouthwash and Dental Floss, Sunblock, Chapstick, Lotion, and Powder.

Practical items; Bandannas, Batteries, International Phone Cards, Mini Fans, Hand Warmers, Paper, Pens, Pencils, Envelopes, Small Flashlights, Decks of Cards, Disposable Cameras, Puzzles, Magazines, Paperback Books, Dominoes.

In the Food Category: Gum, Instant Coffee, Tea Bags, Dried Fruit, Hard Candy, Granola Bars, Crackers.

DO NO GIVE: Chocolate (It's 120 degrees over there), Pork or Pork Products, Alcohol, or Tobacco products. No colored socks - only black or white due to Military Restrictions.

This is a wonderful way to help Brian help our troops serving in Iraq. Small donations can make big packages when put together. Remember - Every Little Bit Helps.
