October brings us the delightful autumn season as well as some wonderful choices for art classes. Whether Bontanicals, Watercolors, Oils, Pastel Paintings or Basic Drawings are your passion, there's something for everyone. All those who enroll in one of these fine art classes will be eligible for our popular Spring Exhibition in May 2008.

On Monday mornings, beginning on October 15, Pastel will be taught by Arleen Rueth Urban, PSA from the hours of 9:30 to 12:30 p.m. Come to the Garden City Casino on that day for registration. A pastel painting demonstration and complete list of required art supplies will be given out on the first day of class. This six-week program will be followed by a three-week Basic Drawing Class offered to those who were enrolled in the pastel class as well as to all newcomers who wish to learn the basics. The Basic Drawing Class will commence on November 21. These fundamental techniques will be most helpful in working with any other medium or art class in the future.

Harriet Caretenunto, another experienced resident artist, is offering a class in Oils, a most popular medium.

Some of the classes may have already begun, but its not too late to register and be part of these wonderful classes. If you would like additional pastel classes, Arleen has a workshop on Wednesday mornings in her home.
