Resurrection Schedules Back-To-School Blessing
Going back to school signals the end to summer vacation as well as new beginnings for children across the country and in our own community. With the opportunities for learning and developing new skills, as well as forming new friendships comes a certain amount of apprehension for children, their parents, and teachers.
Aware of the importance of a healthy, positive educational experience, The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection invites children of all ages to a "Back-to-School Blessing," during its regular worship services the weekend of Sept. 1 and 2.
Acknowledging Resurrection's continuing commitment to offer spiritual support to students and their corresponding schools, Pastor Bill Harmon, describes the event. "Children will be invited to come forward to receive a special blessing and a gift as they prepare to go back to school. Teachers are also encouraged to come forward, as we remember all schools, teachers, staff, and students in our congregational prayers."
Resurrection is a multi-site Christian community of faith. All are invited to worship at 5:30 PM on Saturdays and at 8:30 and 11 AM Sunday mornings, with Christian Education at 9:45 AM at the 420 Stewart Avenue location in Garden City.
