Buckley Students Excel In Hopkins Search For Talented Youth
A group of high-scoring Buckley Country Day School upper school students was honored recently, having distinguished themselves in the Johns Hopkins University Talent Search. This competition recognizes students with exceptional mathematical and/or verbal reasoning abilities. Just to qualify to take the Johns Hopkins test, students must have scored in the 95th percentile or above on their most recent or next-most-recent standardized tests. This year, seventy-five percent of Buckley's upper school students qualified.
Buckley's 2006-2007 fifth and sixth graders whose scores on the PLUS test earned them each a State Award with High Honors are Rebecca Ford, Julia Glynn, Abigail Kucharczyk, Edward Lee, Patrick Moodhe, Aidan Owens, Hannah Phillips, and Ericka Sanchez.
The Buckley 2006-2007 seventh and eighth graders who gained distinction for their outstanding performance on the SAT are Allyson Arnone, Constandina Homayuni, Christine Mozer, Lauren Nathan, and Ryan Schmitz. These young students scored as well as or above the average college-bound senior. In addition, Allyson Arnone received a State Award with High Honors.
Congratulations to all these outstanding students!
