Students Organize Food For Friends Club
During the 2006-2007 school year, students in Food for Friends, a new club at Garden City High School, donated more than 200 pounds of food to the Mary Brennan Inn in Hempstead. The club also reached out to students affected by the April shootings on the campus of Virginia Tech. Three Garden City High School wrestlers competed in the USA Wrestling High School National championships in Fargo, North Dakota the week of July 21 through July 28th. Danny Lofresse (112lbs-Cadet division), Dave Foxen (140 & 145lbs-Junior division) and Spenser DeSena (215lbs-Junior division) wrestled for Team New York in both the Freestyle and Greco-Roman tournaments.
