Marianne Bee, RNMarianne Bee, RN Marianne Bee, RN the founder of the Garden City based Geriatric Care Management practice, "Bee Well Elder Care, Llc," has announced her graduation from the Brookdale Center on Aging at Hunter College where she obtained a Professional Certificate in Geriatric Care Management. Ms. Bee will continue to serve her "Bee Well" elder clients throughout the Nassau/Queens area. "The Brookdale Center offered me the most up- to- date information and resources on Geriatric Care Management", said Ms. Bee, adding: " I am passionate about serving the needs of older people and dedicated to ensuring the dignity and respect they so deserve." Marianne's compassion extends to family members, whom she helps navigate the complex system with ease and comfort.

Bee Well Elder Care Services offers comprehensive assessments of the elderly, evaluating physical, psychological, functional, and safety concerns. Ms. Bee provides recommendations for intervention, supervision of medical care and assistance in obtaining home care and other community services.

After over 20 years as a Master's- prepared registered nurse, working in a variety of settings, Marianne opened her own practice in Garden City. She believes her recent study at the Brookdale Center will significantly add to her ability to help seniors. Ms. Bee had previously obtained a Geriatric Scholar Certificate from the consortium on New York Geriatric Education Centers. Marianne's career experiences have included nursing practice at NYU Medical Center and medical case management, disability, workers compensation and health benefits management with organizations such as Sony, CBS, Con Edison and the U.S. Department of Labor. Early in her career, she was involved in community health research at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. In addition to managing her private practice, Marianne currently serves at an Adjunct Clinical Instructor in Community Health at NYU College of Nursing. Ms. Bee also performs comprehensive assessments on seniors to document eligibility for Long Term Care Insurance benefits.

Marianne is certified as a Case Manager and a PRI/Screen evaluator (requirement for skilled nursing home placement). Ms. Bee is also as Care Manger member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers and is listed on their website: www.caremanger.org. Ms. Bee, a Garden City resident, looks forward to her continued work with seniors in this and other communities in the area.
