"Mint Car" was a really fun, upbeat number with (front) Jaclyn Vitale and Claire Colahan, (middle) Brianne Shannon, Amy Shannon and Caroline Confort, and (back) Maggie Raymond, Liz Cavanaugh, Murphy Shannon and Danielle Saltiel. Garden City Community Dance Project proudly presented "Socially Speaking" on May 11 and 12, under the direction of Liana O'Brien, Artistic Director Jean Marie Philippou and Associate Director Jacqueline Collins Royce. This year's performance was held at a new professional venue, the Maguire Theatre at SUNY College at Old Westbury, and Garden City family and friends filled the theater to capacity.

As always, Dance Project performances are highly artistic productions, blending originally choreographed pieces in ballet, Pointe, jazz and modern. This year's all-cast finale, "Meltdown in Suburbia," may be the talk of the town for some time to come! Over 40 girls from Garden City elementary, middle and high schools are members of Dance Project.

Courtney Hunt's wistful solo, "A Little Tenderness," was set to music by Otis Redding. Dance Project held a successful audition for new members on June 2 and is busy preparing a summer workshop and looking forward to an exciting new season this fall.
