Garden City Sparks Defend Title in Philadelphia
Coach Malhame and team
Over the Memorial Day weekend, the Sparks traveled to Philadelphia to compete and defend their first place title from last year. Garden City met Pittsburg in the first game of the tournament. Pittsburg had played earlier in the day and defeated their opponent 5-1. The first half ended 0-0 as the girls needed to get used to the heat and warm-up after traveling more than two hours. However, the Sparks netted 5 times in the second half to win 5-0. This would pretty much be the way the tournament went for the Sparks as they dominated their opponents while Kaitlyn Gorman did not let up a goal in the four games. Kaitlyn even managed to score a goal! In between dominating their opponents, the girls went swimming, played elevator tag, and enjoyed a dinner party. Congratulations girls!
