The Garden City boys 6th grade Maroon Team posted its' 2nd shutout of the season with a 5-0 win over Plainedge. The tone of the game was set with Kevin Byrne winning the opening face-off. The Maroon team controlled the ball for most of the game but when Plainedge was able to move the ball into the Garden City defensive zone Steve Ollquist, Brian Defliese, Ed Blatz, Alex Kelly and Sean Walsh protected the goalies. Brian Pratt and Brian Defliese became goalies for the day and walked away happy with a shutout. Offensively Corey Fitzpatrick, James Anatra, Scott D'Antonio, Sean Digan and Ed Blatz scored for the Maroon team on nice assists from Patrick Keogh, Mike Walsh, Kyle Walsh and Kyle Ritchie. The attack was led by Alex Halka and Greg Bolte as they kept constant pressure on the Plainedge goalie.

The Maroon team is off to a good start and look forward to a tough game against Lynbrook on 5/15.
