GCAA Baseball Pacific League Weekly Highlights
Giants- The Giants had two exciting games this week led by the clutch hitting of Nicholas Ahrem and the pitching of Max Sutherland. John Mackey contributed outstanding fielding plays.
Cubs - The Cubs are playing great defense with two force out plays at home plate by catchers Ryan Galioto and Ryan Pascale. Jack Williams, the second baseman, made an excellent play to first base to retire a batter in the last inning.
Mets- Tony Loiodici turned a double play on Saturday. Tony also pitched a great game during the week along with Shayne Gallager, Nick Lavinio and Christian Ferris. The team also had clutch hitting from Billy Bice, Dan Valenti, Jason Hennig, Stephen Moran, Jack Keenan, James Linehan and Eric Nolan.
Pirates- Led by the pitching and hitting of Joseph Pizzingrillo, the hitting and defense of Peter Sceusa and the all around play of Michael Franco, the Pirates continued their excellent play this Spring.
Devil Rays- The Devil Rays played two nail biters this past week. Excellent defense was played by Chris Hobert at shortstop and Sean Knowles at 3B. Strong hitting by Zach Warhurst and a base hit from James Rumsey also contributed to successful baseball by the Rays.
Royals- This week the Royals played two of their best games. Phillip (lefty) Puccio proved to be real tough to hit. Brian Burke was tireless behind the plate doing most of the catching duties. Connor Dunne provided a boost to the pitching staff and Kiernan Gunn played a flawless shortstop, all leading to a perfect week of baseball.
Blue Jays- The Jays are getting timely hitting and playing good defense led by Alex Tateosian. The hustle of Mitch Feijoo's has led to numerous rallies.
Mariners- The Mariners continued their strong play behind the outstanding pitching of Liam McAndrews and Matty Chmil and timely hitting of TJ Michielini,Mike DeSanti and David Leary, who received the game ball with 3 hits. Jake Murray continued to flash great leather with his tremendous defense. Christian Irwin continued to shine behind the plate.
