RSVP - Improving Lives, Strengthening Communities, Making a Difference! The Department of Senior Citizen Affairs offers volunteer opportunities to people 55 and older at more than 100 community-based agencies and programs. Share your talents, experience and expertise with others! Please call the RSVP Program at 227-8988.

You can make a difference in a child's life simply by becoming a Foster Grandparent. If you are age 60 and older, you may be eligible to receive a non-reportable stipend, transportation reimbursement, paid holidays, sick days, and vacation days. If you're 55+ and want to work, call the Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs at 227-8903 to see if you are eligible to participate in the Senior Community Service Employment Program. It's an employment training program that works for you.
