Victor Alinovi, 84, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007.

Victor graduated from Newtown High School in NY, as Valedictorian in June 1940. He was accepted to Columbia University where he was a pre-med student and played on the baseball team. Victor graduated from Columbia University in 1944 and was accepted to Long Island College of Medicine School located in Brooklyn, NY.

Dr. Alinovi completed his residency at St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Brooklyn, NY where he met his future wife, Helen Slowik, a pediatric nurse. They were married on June 14th, 1947.

Victor and his family moved to Garden City, in 1959 where he established a thriving Obstetrics and Gynecology practice with offices in Hicksville and Garden City.

Victor was affiliated with Winthrop University Hospital (formerly Nassau Hospital) in Mineola, NY. He served as Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology for nine years. He retired from practice in 1998 at the age of 76.

Victor is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Helen Alivovi of Cary, NC; three children, Robert Alinovi of Cary, Stephen Alinovi of Huntington, NY, Susan Hannon of Garden City, NY; four grandchildren, Jonathan and Kristen Alinovi, Laura Kelley and Sarah McComas.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd., Cary, NC. Entombment followed at Raleigh Memorial Park.

A memorial service will be held in Garden City, NY at a future date.
