A Word From The Publisher

2007-05-04 / Letters

This week's paper is very possibly the largest we've ever produced, weighing in at 112 pages and more than half a pound of newsprint. With the coming of spring the real estate market heats up in Garden City, and as our readers will surely note, many real estate brokers are placing advertising, which in turn enables us to bring our readers additional pages of local news, sports and social events. We thank them for their support.

It appears that tonight's annual SEPTA Street Fair will again have lovely weather. In past years this has been a great family event, and usually seems to have great weather as well, so go and enjoy!

The sports "busy season" has also started up again, so as we did in previous years we ask those submitting sports material to help us by following some guidelines:

+ Please submit no more than five or six photos for ordinary games (more are acceptable for special events). We need an individual caption for each photo.

+ If possible, please email items to editor@gcnews.com. Text should be sent at either a MS Word file or as text.

+ Photos should be sent as .jpg attachments (not embedded in other documents)

+ Please try to mention each of the kids on the team at least once during the season, and refrain from making any unsportsmanlike comments about referees or other teams.

This week's paper has around twelve pages of sports in it, and we anticipate that future weeks will be even busier. While we endeavor to use everything submitted, it's very helpful if our coaches and parents could follow the above guidelines.
