The Garden City 6th grade boys Maroon team defeated Hewlett last week 9-0. This was a total team effort with the Garden City boys winning with the score but the ground ball battle as well. Greg Bolte had the shutout as the goalie. He was aided by an outstanding defense of Christian Capozzi, Steve Ollquist, Alex Kelly, Mike Walsh, and Sean Walsh. The pace of the game was set early as the Garden City mid-fielders controlled the ball. Kyle Walsh, Brian Defliese, Brian Pratt, Scott D'Antonio, Kyle Ritchie and Jonathan Kramer. The middies did a tremendous job of feeding the ball to the attack. Once in the offensive zone it did not take long for the attack to put the ball in the Hewlett net. James Anatra, Corey Fitzpatrick, Alex Halka, Ed Blatz and Sean Digan all displayed outstanding stick work.

The Maroon team faces off against a tough Wantagh team on Tuesday night, 4/24 at St. Paul's and look forward to the return of Patrick Keogh and Kevin Byrne.
