Chamber Members Sponsor Party to Benefit Child Life Program

Left to right Suzanne Eigl, Twigs Child Life Program, Russell Ciolli and Jennifer Ciolli, Grimaldi's Pizzeria, and Cynthia Bevington-Salvatico, Wintgate Inn of Garden City Special thanks to Russell Ciolli, owner of Grimaldi's Pizzeria and Chamber Director, Garden City Chamber of Commerce and his wife, Jennifer in conjunction with Tracey Gitterie, owner of Legendary Events, for sponsoring the St. Patrick's Day Party for the pediatric patients of the "Hagedorn Pediatric Unit" of the hospital. The party was held in the "Child Life Program" activity room. and St. Patrick's Day goodies for the kids were provided by Tracey. Due to the generosity of Russell and Jennifer the children were treated to Grimaldi's famous and oh so good coal brick-oven pizza and a fabulous Coldstone Creamery ice cream cake. There was enough pizza and cake for the children, doctors, and staff from "Child Life", who all appreciated a break from hospital food!

Tracey spent time visiting with the kids and handing out the pizza, ice cream, and of course the goodie bags! Tracey was a natural at brightening up the day for these kids. Her cheerfulness on such a cold and stormy day was much appreciated. Tracey also made a monetary donation to the "Child Life Program" that will provide much needed specially designed infant crib mobiles from the units Wish List.

Suzanne Eigl, Twigs Child Life Program and Tracey Gitterie, Legendary Events Suzanne Eigl, Chamber Director and Chairperson,Twigs of Winthrop's "Child Life Program" was especially grateful to her fellow Chamber Members for going thru with this party in such horrible weather. A big thank you to Russell, Chloe, and the staff at Grimaldi's for having our pizzas ready on time, before your usual business hours and in the middle of an ice storm!

The party was a big hit! Ann Marie DiFrancesca, Director of the "Child Life Program" could not have been more happy to have had the participation of Russell, Jennifer, Suzanne, and Tracey and welcomes more members of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce to sponsor such an event, or to donate items from her Wish List to the "Child Life Program". Ann Marie feels these parties and donations are a great way for the Chamber community to become involved in the "Child Life Program", which is funded entirely by private donations and provides various forms of therapy and entertainment for the children such as, pizza parties, holiday parties, guest/celebrity appearances, art and music therapies, arts and crafts, etc. for its patients.
