Hofstra Musicians To Perform At Community Club

The Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead cordially invites its members and their guests to the last general program of the 2006/07 club year to enjoy a performance by the Woodwind Ensemble and String quartet from Hofstra University, under the direction of Dr. David Ramael, on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at the Garden City Casino.

Dr. Ramael is assistant professor of music at Hofstra University and director of Orchestral activities there. He is conductor of the Hofstra Symphony Orchestra and Hofstra String orchestra. A native of Belgium, Dr. Ramael earned a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in musicology from Free University in Brussels. He then received a Master of Arts in musicology from the Free University and a Master of Arts in Conducting and a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Conducting from the University of Minnesota.

Do come and enjoy an afternoon of wonderful music, meet Dr. Ramael and the talented Hofstra students who will entertain us, and stay to view the beautiful works of fine art and crafts created by members enrolled in the Studio Department's Creative Art classes and on display at the Annual Peggy Otto Studio Exhibit.
