The once-again-active Long Island Catamaran Sailors Association (LICSA), in existence since 1989, is looking for anyone interested in catamaran and multi-hull sailing. LICSA's focus is on racing, cruising and promoting and practicing multi-hull sailing in any and all of its formats. Between April 19 and 20, someone may have entered a Stratford Avenue house after breaking window panes there. An investigation is continuing although nothing has been found missing at this time... On April 22 , 9:20 PM, a 30-year-old Hempstead man was arrested by PO Sommer for alleged DWI ( .17%) at Nassau Blvd./Stewart Avenue. The motorist allegedly failed to maintain a lane there... PO Bandl arrested a 25-year-old St. Lucie, Florida man for alleged DWI( .11%), and for speeding at the alleged speed of 55 in a 30, at Chester Avenue, on April 20, at 3:45 AM... On April 19 , someone burglarized a Brixton Rd. residence while the homeowner was gardening between 10:45 and 11 AM. Over $100,000 in jewelry was taken... PO Matos arrested a 23-year-old Hempstead woman for aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd degree, and for no registration, no insurance, at Clinton Rd. after she was observed driving without front license plates there on April 19... On April 12 , 4:30 PM, PO Sommer arrested a 53-year-old Mineola woman for allegedly stealing $199 in merchandise; a Jones NY blouse, a Kate Hill shirt and sweater, at Lord and Taylor... PO Jacobsen arrested a 24-year-old Hempstead woman for alleged speeding at 50 in a 30, no inspection, and aggravated unlicensed operation ( 4 suspensions, 3 dates) at Clinton Rd, on April 12, at 10:42 PM...
On April 19 , a truck stop was held at NHP Road and 8 trucks were inspected with 65 tickets issued, and 3 trucks taken out of service with 16 weight violations... On April 24 , another truck stop was conducted at Clinton Rd., with 15 trucks inspected, 1 truck taken out of service and 53 tickets issued...

Burnt popcorn in a microwave oven triggered an alarm at Adelphi University's Linen Hall on April 19... A brush fire occurred at Franklin Avenue on April 20... A cigarette that had fallen between seats in a car caused a car fire at Sandy Court on April 21... A radiator caused a water leak at a Kildare Rd. house on April 21... Another brush fire occurred at GC Plaza on April 22... FD gained keyless entry at Kingsbury Rd on April 23 and rescued a child who was locked inside the house there...
