Meet CSSP's Development Partner May 16

2007-04-27 / Community

The Committee to Save St. Paul's (CSSP) invites residents to meet and get to know Paul Rabinovitch of Canus Corporation, our development partner. Please join us on Wednesday, May 16, 8 p.m. at The Garden City Casino.

In addition to meeting Paul in a social setting, residents will hear about the progress of our joint proposal for redevelopment of St. Paul's. We are pleased that our proposed solution is among the three finalists under consideration by the Trustees' Subcommittee. Discussion and questions will be encouraged at the May 16 event.

Paul joined the CSSP team as a major player in November. He's dedicated to the Committee's principles: maintaining public control of the building, preserving of the historic character of the interior and exterior features, creating significant public space in prime areas of the building, and staying within the "E" footprint. Read more about Paul and his firm, Canus Corporation, on the "News" page of our website, www.savestpauls.org.

The Committee to Save St. Paul's and Canus Corporation are proud that, with the help of many fellow residents, we are able to propose a plan that has solid financial backing, is a model for public-private partnership, creates major space for public use, and is the only option that involves true preservation of one of Garden City's few remaining historic structures without any additional construction. Because of this, the Committee and Canus believe we have the only plan that has a chance to gain the legislative support necessary to obtain home rule legislation and relief from the parkland restrictions.
