On March 31st, the Daredevils kicked off their league competition against the formidable opponent, Newfield. With only 11 players and no subs, they knew they needed to play smart to win this match....and they did. The Daredevils were relentless with shots on the net and they wrapped up the game with a 3-0 win, with goals contributed by Nicole Bommarito, Krista Dampman and Erin Greiner. Importantly, this win set their pace for the season.

On April 14th, the Daredevils faced Wantagh-Seaford for the first round of the Waldbaums competition. With most of the play in our competitors strike zone, the Daredevils had an opportunity to demonstrate their strength and balance as an offensive team. The scoring machine kicked off with a lob from Carly Knowles to Nicole Bommarito, who checked off her first goal. Erin Greiner started the play for round two, with a corner kick received by Liesl Jaye, who set it up for, once again, Nicole Bommarito who headed it into the net. Carly Knowles landed goal three, served up by an awesome pass from Krista Dampman. Relentless throughout the game, Krista scored the final goal, resulting in a 4-0 win.

The team celebrates Nicole Bommarito's first goal of the game - and getting ready to march on to the next play On April 17th, the Daredevils faced-off against their Farmingdale rivals for round one of the State Cup. Farmingdale is a strong offensive team, but our defense was ready! On a cold and rainy night, Goalie Kelsey Tierney took charge of the game with several outstanding saves and by providing direction to her team. The strength, resilience and consistency of the entire defense was extraordinary. Defenders Niki Berkery, Bitty Furman, Taylor Pappas and Lauren Coleman continued to surprise their competition with tenacity, by disrupting their plays and then moving the ball to our midfielders. Brynn Murphy, Courtney Studdert, Lily Schmitt, Jacqueline Jahelka, Victoria Piscopo and Jane Frumberg were persistent in fighting for the ball in the middle and setting up offensive plays. After a Knowles goal that was taken back after the play, the girls felt wronged and were more determined then ever to score. With consistent pressure by Nicole and Krista, the final play was a gritty pass by Carly to Erin Greiner, who rifled the ball at the net, off the post, and into the goal. The girls celebrated their third win, together.

The Daredevils are on fire and are striving to maintain their undefeated, unscored upon position, while continuing to have FUN!

Go Daredevils!
