Evelyn G. Thater, age 82, of Newtown, CT, passed away at Danbury Hospital on Sunday April 15. She was the wife of Erwin Thater, and was a former resident of Garden City.

She was born in Queens, NY September 6, 1924 daughter of the late Charles and Frances ( DeLouie ) Gordon.

Mr. And Mrs. Thater were married on April 30, 1950. She was an avid baseball fan and her favorite teams were the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Yankees.

In addition to her beloved husband of Newtown she is survived by her son William Thater and his wife Judith of Danbury, loving grandsons Stephen Gordon Thater and Michael David Thater, and her favorite dog Oreo.
