Four Garden City wrestlers, their parents and coaches enjoyed attending the Nassau County Wrestling Banquet at the Coral House in Freeport on March 21 st. At this banquet, seniors Dave Foxen (3 rd at 130 lbs.) and Luke Mitchell (4 th at 189 lbs.) were joined by their junior teammates, Spencer DeSena (2 nd at 215 lbs.) and Nick Preziosi (5 th at 135 lbs.) in receiving All-County wrestling honors for their past season.

They also had the pleasure of receiving awards that honored the entire GC wrestling team for being both League Co-Champions and County Dual meet Championship Semifinalists (an accomplishment that has never occurred in a single season by any other wrestling team from Garden City). The coaching staff of Reid Sclafani, Rich Bury and Mark Czachor were also honored as being League 2A coaches of the year.

Indeed, the prospects for the future of wrestling in Garden City continues to be bright as a number of talented returnees will be joined by promising athletes form the Middle School in seeking to defend the team's conference title next year.
