The Garden City Recreation Department's Annual Easter Hunt for PreK to 5 th graders will be held on Saturday, April 7th at Garden City Community Park.
Our Easter Hunt is open to any who is a resident of the Inc. Village of Garden City. The hunt will begin promptly at 10 a.m. There will be three hunts: PreK and Kindergarten, 1 st and 2 nd grades, and 3 rd through 5 th grades. The children will be searching for all kinds of treats as well as the special "number eggs" which win special prizes.
Parents are asked to observe age groupings in order to give all children a fair chance in the search for treats. If it rains, the hunts will be held on Monday, April 9th.
Please note: Due to construction of the new mini golf course, please enter the Easter Hunt through the Hockey Rink Entrance on the south east side of the Park, to the left of the Pool.
2007 Garden city recreation spring children's tennis lessons
The Garden City Recreation Department's Tennis Center is pleased to announce the start of registration for its spring program! Our Spring Tennis classes are offered to Garden City residents ages 4 through 18 years old. All classes will begin the week of Monday, April 30 and run for six weeks. The schedule and fees for this year's youth classes are as follows (all classes are 55 minutes long):

spring/summer adult tennis lessons
The Garden City Recreation Department will conduct evening tennis lesson for adults who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City. The lessons will be held at the Garden City Community Park tennis facility and will run one evening a week. There will be a maximum of four players on a court. the dates, times, and fees will be as follows:

To register for any of these sessions, please come to the Recreation Office in Village Hall. Payment must accompany your registration form and separate checks will be needed for each session you register for. Our tennis pro will then set up lessons on our courts with people with like abilities. You will be emailed or called with your lesson assignment.
interesting in playing softball?
If you are a resident of the Inc. Village of Garden City, age 18 or older, who would like to play softball in one of the Recreation Department's softball leagues, call the Recreation Office at 465-4075 to put your name on our "player list."
We sometimes have coaches who are looking for extra players to round out their rosters. Call and leave your name, age, address, and phone number and we will keep your information on file for the team who is looking for players.

With the Spring Sports Season upon us, the Recreation Department would like our residents to know that, although the Recreation Department allow the various volunteer organization to use the village field space, it does not run any of the spring programs. adult swim at adelphi
The Recreation Department's adult swim program will begin on Monday, October 16 th at Adelphi's indoor pool located in Woodruff Hall. This free program is open to any adult resident of the Inc. Village of Garden City, aged 18 or older. The pool is open for lap swimming on Mondays through Thursdays in one hour time blocks at 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
Anyone interested in this program must sign up through the Recreation Office. You must register each day you would like to swim by calling the Recreation Office at 465-4075. No reservations will be taken ahead of time and space is limited.

Our instructors are up to date on the latest moves to keep you interested while exercising. Pat and Joy have years of experience and can show the individual how to modify the exercises to their levels.
To attend a single class, you only need to show on a given day and pay $4.00. If you would like to attend regularly, then we have 20 class passes that cost $60, a savings of $1.00 per class.
