A Short-Handed Power Win
2007-04-06 / Sports
The Garden City Power U-10 girl's soccer team played a tough, short-handed game this Saturday against Lynbrook. The Power had only enough girls to field a team, with no substitutes and no time for rest. They came out strong against Lynbrook, scoring three goals to Lynbrook's one in the first half. The Power goalie had little pressure as the Power offense controlled the ball in Lynbrook's end, putting several shots on the Lynbrook goal. Even though they had little rest, it was more of the same during the second half, as the Power scored another two goals, giving them a final victory of 5-2. The girls showed excellent spirit and determination during their season opener.
