Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray (second left) joins with members of the Town Board in congratulating Intel Science Talent Search Finalist Abhinav Rohatgi (center) of Garden City. Supervisor Murray, along with Councilman Edward Ambrosino (second right), Town Clerk Mark Bonilla (right) and Receiver of Taxes Don Clavin (left) presented a Town of Hempstead Certificate of Recognition to this extraordinary student from Garden City High School before a recent Town Board meeting. Abhinav's project was entitled, "The MTBE Fuel Additive Induces Mortality in Marine Life Through Nitric Oxide Signaling." His research may impact the improvement of environmental laws to advocate a more stringent regulation of waste management of chemicals.
