GCHS Class Of 2001 Makes Donation
      The Garden City Student Aid and Scholarship Fund gratefully accepted a gift of $1,200 from the Garden City High school Class of 2001. the gift was made at the class's fifth reunion in memory of two class members, Sonal Sampat and Michael Scillitani, who have died since graduation.

Brian Johnston To Receive Business Education Award
      One of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce's recent initiatives has been for formation of a charitable foundation. One of the missions of the Foundation is to award an annual scholarship to a deserving Garden City High School student who has excelled in the area of business.

School Board Work Session
      The Garden City School District Board of Education will meet for a regular work session on Wednesday, April 11, at 8:15 p.m. in the cafeteria of the High School, 170 Rockaway Avenue. The meeting will involve discussion of the 2007-2008 budget, concerns relevant to Raymond Court, and issues related to grading in Physical Education classes.

      Stratford School students in Leigh Dowden's fifth grade class recently wrote, illustrated, and assembled their own 25-page, hard-bound book entitled Just One Can. The book, a fictional work, is about a girl named Sally who doesn't think twice about littering.
