Local merchants stopped by Things and Stuff on Seventh Street last Thursday to say hello to the new owners Cindy and Jaro Parizek and goodbye to previous owners Linda and Elliott.

It was 31 years ago, in 1976, that co-owners Linda and Elliott established Things and Stuff on Seventh Street in half their current space. The store had been occupied by Mrs. Thompson's "Garden City Book Shop" which at the time was owned by Ellery Mann. Next door was Bob's Liquor store which closed in 1980 and that space was taken over by Things and Stuff, doubling their size making them quickly a popular landmark on Seventh Street. Known for their wide selection of merchandise and their beautiful holiday windows, Things and Stuff was also an active participant in affairs concerning Seventh street.

New owners and Garden City residents Cindy and Jaro plan to keep the name and atmosphere of the store the same. They have a background in this type of business and plan to carry on the reputation Things and Stuff has earned with its customers over these past three decades.
