Christine Malhame scored on the 3rd penalty kick. In the first round of the A&P Waldbaum's Cup, the U14 Fireballs came up with a tremendous effort and beat the Cold Spring Harbor Glory after two overtimes and penalty kicks. Both teams put on quite an exhibition, but the Fireballs advance to the second round on the strength of scoring 4 consecutive penalty kicks (see the photo's) and getting a key save by keeper Joanna Matuza (welcome back to good health). The girls start the season tomorrow at St. Paul's against Commack at 3:30 and then have the first round of the State Cup on Sunday at St. Paul's against the Valley Stream Thunder at 4:30 - Good Luck Fireballs!
