Tom and Betty Grogan todayTom and Betty Grogan today Former residents of Garden City, Tom and Betty Grogan are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary back in Garden City over Easter Weekend with their family. They were married on May 11, 1957 at St Anne's Parish in Garden City officiated by Father Colgan. Garden City is full of fond memories for the Grogans where they raised their 6 children: Tom Grogan Jr of Jacksonville, FL, Patricia Conway of Massapequa Park, William Grogan of Franklin Square, Mary Bilardello of Seaford, Michael Grogan of Tucson, AZ and Nancy Sturm of Bethlehem, PA.

Tom and Betty met in Garden City at a church social club at St Anne's Parish. Tom served in the United States Navy during World War II as an Aviation Supply Officer. He received his undergraduate at the University of Pittsburgh and attended graduate school at Harvard and received his masters from New York University. Tom enjoyed a successful 37 year career with McGraw Hill Publishing in New York City, NY. Prior to his retirement in 1986, he was Director of Mergers and Acquisitions. Betty was a graduate of St Joseph's Catholic School's very first graduating class of 1942 and went on to Garden City High School where she was an avid cheerleader and captain in her senior year. She then earned her college degree at Marymount College. She was employed at Lord & Taylor in Garden City and then with AT&T on Long Island. She has been a steadfast member on many levels with the Catholic Daughters of America.

When they can, they love to visit with their 14 grandchildren! Their children and grandchildren, Tommy, Kim, Katie, Shannon, Erin, Emily, Victoria, Patrick, Crissy, Sean, Ashleigh, Connor, Sarah and Jessica send out their warmest congratulations to them! Happy 50th Mom and Dad, Grammy and Granddaddy!
