The invitations are in the mail! My Best Friend invites you to celebrate the effervescence of the Mexican spirit at Garden City's first-ever Cinco de Mayo Fiesta for FA to be held on May 5th, 2007 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the home of Betsy and John Lane. The Fiesta will benefit the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund.

Under a colorful canopy of lights and bright paper flowers, you are invited to fall in love with the romance of Latin music, the charm of strolling mariachis and be transported down Mexico way by an atmosphere charged with energy and contagious enthusiasm. Conversation and delicious food go hand-in-hand in Mexico. Sterling Affair catering will carry out the south of the border theme with flavors as bright as the décor to delight your taste buds. And we'll serve plenty of premium margaritas, specialty sangrias and cold cervezas to quench your thirst.

The Fiesta for FA will benefit the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization that funds research for a cure, brings together specialists and affected families, and provides vital education and support services. Fanconi Anemia is a genetic disorder that leads to bone marrow failure, leukemia and other cancers in children. This cancer predisposition syndrome has generated tremendous interest in the scientific community, and many researchers feel this rare disorder may hold the key to a cure for cancer. Charity Navigator, America's premier charity evaluator, has awarded the Fund its highest rating, Four Stars.
