Robert Salvatico At its 5th annual Pineapple Ball at the Garden City Hotel on Friday evening April 20, the Garden City Chamber of Commerce will proudly present to Robert (Rob) Salvatico, the prestigious Community Achievement Award. Established in 1974, this recognition commemorates outstanding professionalism and major contributions to the Village of Garden City and beyond through one's profession.

Robert Salvatico is the Senior Vice President of Operations for the Garden City based JARAL Properties, owner and operator of Wingate Inn, Garden City as well as the Riverhead based Holiday Inn Express East End and Best Western East End.

During his 3-year tenure as part of the operating team of Wingate Inn, Garden City, Rob developed the sales, marketing and operational strategies. His current responsibilities include oversight of the daily operations of the three hotels and the operational analysis of new and potential projects.

"A generous heart, a love of family and friends and a genuine concern for his community are what Rob is all about," commented Rob's dad, Al Salvatico who will introduce Rob at the Pineapple Ball. Indeed, outside of his professional responsibilities, Rob is an active member of the community, having served on the Board of Directors of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce, chairing its After Hours/Events Committee; and the Hofstra University Alumni Organization and Advisory Boards. Rob has also served on both the Chaminade High School and the Winthrop University Hospital Golf Committees. He is a founding member of the Business Networking Group, NLI.

Rob Salvatico is a graduate of Hofstra University and is the recipient of the University Alumni Organization's "2005 Young Alumnus of the Year" award. He holds a Masters in Business Administration in Marketing & Information Systems from the Fordham University Graduate School of Business Administration. In 2005, Rob was named to the Long Island Business News "Top 40 Under 40." Rob resides in Garden City with his wife Cynthia Bevington and their prized French Bulldog, Lila.

At the Pineapple Ball, Rob Salvatico will share honors with Rob Rothschild, Citizen of the Year, and Stephanie Healy Cullum, Business Person of the Year.
