Mercy League Views Results Of Donation
Daniel Murphy, MD, Mercy Medical Center's Director of Emergency Services and Tara Walsh, President of the Garden City League, with a plaque expressing appreciation for the $41,000 that the women's fundraising group has donated for the hospital's Pediatric Express Care area.
Representatives of the Garden City League of Mercy Medical Center visited the hospital's Pediatric Express Care area on March 15th in a tour that included presentation of a plaque expressing appreciation for the $41,000 that the women's fundraising group has donated for the unique facility.
Daniel Murphy, MD, Director of Emergency Services, met with the visitors to thank them for their support of the special Express Care facilities, equipment and staff that provide treatment for children brought to the hospital with injuries and illnesses that fall short of emergencies but require rapid attention.
The Garden City group is part of The Council of Leagues of Mercy Medical Center, founded in 1931 to coordinate the activities of eleven women's organizations in communities throughout Nassau County that conduct numerous, wide-ranging events and activities that raise more than $300,000 for the hospital each year.
