The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club is looking for qualified coaches to head our new U10 teams that will tryout in June, 2007. The birthdates for the children on these teams will fall between August 1, 1997 and December 31, 1998. More ... The Garden City boys varsity basketball team charged into the playoffs by winning five straight games, gaining the postseason for the second year in a row and for the first time under rookie Coach Larry Steimer. Weekday Clinic Information for Boys and Girls The Centennials will be sponsoring Soccer Clinics for Girls in grades 2-9 and Boys in grades 2-6 who are registered in the spring program. Our clinic program is presenting the opportunity to those children who would like to have some fun, enhance their skills and play more soccer. More ... Our normal Saturday intramural program is ON! The Saturday program has no off dates and runs in its normal timeslots through March 24th. The 7th/8th/9th grade Boys program, "Friday Night Lights", at Stewart School has its next session on Friday March 2nd at 8pm. More ... The Garden City High Girls Varsity Track & Field team finished an outstanding winter season by capturing the Conference and Nassau County Titles. Way to go girls! The team has made its presence known in Nassau County through positive coaching and hard work fueled by the collective winning attitude of all the girls. More ... On January 15 the Wings played a rematch against Sewanhaka. Tom Greco opened the scoring for the Wings assisted by Eric Diller and Tim Moynihan. Sewanhaka would score twice on the power play to end the first period. The Wings would respond on the power play when John Mendicino would find the net on a set up by Aaron Kim. More ... Registrations received after January 31st will be accepted based on space and availability and is subject to a $25 late fee. More ... The Garden City recreation Department's Tennis Staff will offer an Open House of our Junior Round Robin Tennis Program on Sunday, March 4 th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Community Park's Tennis Facility.
