Fire Safety Stressed As Fatalities Increase
      A substantial jump in the number of house fires with fatalities nationwide this month has fire chiefs across the country reaching out to the public to emphasize the importance of fire safety. "We have lost too many people in home fires in the last two weeks," said President Chief Jim Harmes, president of the International Association of Fire Chiefs.

      Well, the skiers finally got their snow, the children got a snow day, (there was not enough snow to make a snow man) and we got ICE and it stayed around for a long time. It was starting to look as though we would all be skating to work and on our errands, but as they say "this too shall end".

Cub Pack 134 Climbs To New Heights
      Cub Pack 134 rented out Mid Island Rock Climbing and tested their outdoor skills by scaling all the various walls. Each climber received individual instruction on climbing techniques and safety. Every boy made it to the top to the sound of cheers by the crowd below. The boys had such a good time climbing that they thought it would be fun to see if the Adult Leaders could do it.
