Holiday Fair Raises Funds For INN

Students at Stewart School show off holiday ornaments and other crafts made for the Stewart School Holiday Fair sponsored by the PTA.
Stewart School third, fourth, and fifth graders raised $6,100 at the annual Holiday Fair held on December 15. The funds will be contributed to the Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN), which operates the Mary Brennan INN in Hempstead and several other shelters or soup kitchens across the island. Students make the decorations and other crafts that are sold at the fair. They may spend up to $5 to purchase items made by their classmates and up to $10 in a raffle for prizes donated by parents. The fair is organized each year by the Stewart School PTA. PTA members Lisa Sutherland, Betty Parente, and Linda Rubin headed this year’s planning committee.
