Medical School Graduate Catherine E. Keefe, M.D. graduated June 9 from the University of Illinois College of Medicine Residency Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. At the graduation exercises she received the Gibson Research Award for Excellence in Clinical Research. Dr. Keefe, a 1991 graduate of Garden City High School, earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology, with Honors, at Haverford College, Pennsylvania, where she was named a Howard Hughes Research Scholar. She earned her medical degree at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, with honors in clinical research. She will continue her medical education as a Pope John Paul II Fellow in Naprotechnology at the Pope Paul VI Institute for the Study of Human Reproduction in Omaha, Nebraska, where she will develop expertise in techniques of fertility regulation, reproductive endocrinology, and laser and micro-surgery of the female reproductive system. She will pursue her clinical training at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha. Catherine is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James J. Keefe of Garden City.
