It Takes A Village To Treasure A Gift

Scaffolding surrounds the Cathedral's spire.
Have you noticed the wings the Cathedral of the Incarnation's spire has sprouted? The restoration of this magnificent building has begun. The stonework is such that it requires artisans to carry out the restoration and the burden of the cost is more than the Cathedral congregation can bear alone.

The Cathedral of the Incarnation is the burial site of the founder of our village Alexander T. Stewart and his wife Cornelia. In fact, the building was a gift to the people of our village from Cornelia in memory of her beloved husband. This gift was meant to be a symbol of Garden City and the values it stands for regardless of what one's religious affiliation might be. It would be wonderful if as a village we could work together to preserve this cherished landmark.

At this holiday time, won't you respond to the generosity and planning of the Stewarts by making a contribution towards the restoration and repair of the Cathedral's structure? The Cathedral has set up a separate fund solely for the restoration of this historical centerpiece of our village. Any donations to this fund are guaranteed to be used only for the restoration of this magnificent gift.

Checks can be made out to The Cathedral of the Incarnation with a memo line of Restoration Fund. If you would like further information about making a tax deductible gift to the restoration fund, please contact Dianne Moody at (516)741-7915 or Jill Mayer at (516)747-8759.
