"Safe Stretches & Exercises For Seniors"

The right type of exercise can help keep seniors strong, flexible and mobile, as well as help prevent falls and injuries. Seniors can learn tips that will help them to remain active and to continue enjoying the things they like to do at Winthrop-University Hospital's Health Update for Seniors and Their Families free lecture, "Increase Your Energy: Safe Stretches and Exercises for Seniors." The program will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at 1:15 PM, at the Mineola Community Center, 155 Washington Avenue in Mineola.

Linda Radler, MA, PT, Director of Physical Therapy at Winthrop, will explain the benefits of exercise, as well as demonstrate safe stretches that can be performed at home. A question and answer period will follow the lecture.

The program begins with free blood pressure checks at 1:15 PM, followed by the lecture at 1:45 PM. Seating is limited and reservations are required. To reserve your seat, please call (516) 663-3916.
