Free Breast Cancer Support Groups

The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Program is offering new support groups. There is no cost for any group; however pre-registration is required. Most groups meet at Adelphi University's School of Social Work, Garden City. For Women Newly Diagnosed with Breast Cancer - Thursday evenings.

An evening group meets weekly for eight weeks from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., tentatively beginning on January 25. At Adelphi School of Social Work, Garden City.

For Women Post-treatment - Tuesday evenings.

An evening group meets weekly for eight weeks from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., tentatively beginning January 23. At Adelphi School of Social Work, Garden City.

For Women with Metastatic Breast Cancer - Tuesday evenings.

This ongoing group meets weekly from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. At Adelphi School of Social Work, Garden City.

The Close Knit Group - Thursday afternoons

A support and handicraft group (knitting, crocheting and/or sewing) for women with breast cancer - This daytime group meets monthly on Thursday afternoons from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the 2 nd Thursday of each month. At Adelphi School of Social Work, Garden City.

For Women with Breast Cancer - Thursday afternoons - Hauppauge Location A daytime group meets weekly for eight weeks, at Better Living Now Boutique in Hauppauge. Starting date to be decided. Supported by grants from Better Living Now Boutique and Suffolk County Legislature, sponsored by Legislator Cameron Alden.

For Spanish Speaking Women with Breast Cancer. - Tuesday afternoons - East Meadow location. An ongoing daytime group meets weekly from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Nassau University Medical Center, East Meadow.

For Men with Breast Cancer - eight-week evening groups.

A mutually convenient meeting time and date will be selected. At Adelphi School of Social Work, Garden City.

For Young Women with Breast Cancer - eight-week evening groups.

A mutually convenient meeting time and date will be selected. At Adelphi School of Social Work, Garden City.
