The Garden City JV football team didn't have any treats in store for Elmont as the two teams faced each other on a beautiful Halloween afternoon.
The game was supposed to have been played on Saturday, October 28th but due to the high winds and rain, the game was changed to Tuesday the 31st. Elmont was 6-1 going into the game but had never beaten Garden City since both teams began playing each other in league play, four years ago.
Garden City scored first on a touchdown run by Sal Cassar. Later, as Elmont threatened from the 2 yard line, with just four seconds left in the first half, the Trojans defense came up big as Elmont tried to get outside with a sweep play and was stopped to end the half with 0 points.
The second half was no better for Elmont as Garden City's defense held them to only three first downs.
Second half touchdowns by Pierce Bradley, Andrew D'Antonio and NolanGaugler, combined with the 4 extra points by Conor Dwyer, brought the final score to 28-0.

Joe Heaphy made his first start this season at left guard, filling in for the injured Christian Klupka and did a commendable job. This was the team's second shut out of the year and 39th straight victory. They will travel to Mepham on Saturday, November 4th for a 9:30am game.
