Thunder 8 Maroon Shuts Out Baldwin 13-0!
Thunder Offense was in high gear and demonstrated great TEAMWORK the whole game. The offensive line provided OUTSTANDING blocking for the ball carriers. Way to go, "O" !! 2-Back Timmy Schmelzinger ran for 6 first downs and well over 100 yards. Timmy is absolutely FANTASTIC! 4-Back Luke McDaid had some nice runs, including a 60-yard run to the 2 yard line. (Yes, GC made the touchdown!) 3-Back Ryan Galioto plowed through the middle for steady gain, and QB John Simmons had a 25 yard run. Thunder Defense was tough and relentless, holding Baldwin to just 4 first downs and NO scoring in the game. OUTRAGEOUS!! The D line, the linebackers, and the backs continually stopped the Baldwin offense, driving their runners out of bounds countless times to stop first downs and making some AMAZING tackles! An INTERCEPTION by Timmy Schmelzinger on a Baldwin pass attempt in the 4th quarter just added insult to injury for Baldwin. Baldwin later fumbled, but recovered, when Andrew Wood knocked the ball out of the runner's arms; Andrew is SO good at that!
