Thunder 10 Grey: 37 Points Against Bellmore!

QB Jack Tigh has time to get off a pass, thanks to outstanding blocking on the line; Danny Simmons (63) is Right Tackle!
'What-a-Game' the Thunder 10 Grey played against Bellmore on Sunday, Oct. 29th! In a very windy, wildly exciting offensive roller-coaster war, Thunder Grey scored 6 touchdowns and had themselves a blast! The Thunder Offense showed great TEAMWORK the whole game, providing continual, OUTSTANDING BLOCKING to the Thunder ball-carriers, who ran big, and to QB Jack Tigh, who threw some great passes, one of them a TD pass. Let's hear it for the LINE !

GC's Matt Greene ran for a huge first down on the opening play of the game, which seemed to set the precedent for both teams, as both went on a scoring frenzy in a 2-hour plus game. First Half Thunder scoring went like this:

-Matt Greene, after the opening run, ran for a TD to give GC an early 6-0 lead.

-Back-to-back first downs by Matt Greene and Carney Mahon paved the way for Jack Tigh to pass to Michael Collins, who made a reception in the End Zone for a TD, to go up 12-7.

Jack Tigh, after making a huge gain, is finally brought down; Nick Giannone (12) and Brendan McLaughlin (80) provided great blocking.
-On Defense, John Dehler recovered a Bellmore fumble. Matt Greene ran for a big first down; Nick Giannone plowed through the middle for gain; Brett Stewart plowed the rest of the way for a first down; Jack Tigh ran it in to go up 18-7.

-Bellmore stepped up their attack and made back-to-back TD's at the end of the 2nd quarter to take the lead 26-18.

The 2nd half proved to be a Wild Ride equivalent to the thrills of Space Mountain, except in daylight. Thunder scoring went like this:

-Even after Bellmore scored yet again, Thunder DID NOT GIVE UP! They came right back with a TD on a run by Carney Mahon to make it 32-24, Bellmore.

-Cullen Minion recovered another Bellmore fumble. Tigh threw a long pass that was caught by Michael Collins, and then Tigh ran for TD to make the score a nail-biting 32-30. (I don't know about the players, but the spectators were exhausted by this time!)

Thunder "Gang Tackle" participants: Robert Wotczak (50), Matt Greene (51), Carney Mahon (20), and Bryan Irwin (45).
-With 8 minutes to go in this incredibly long football game, Bellmore scored to go up 38-30, but Thunder ANSWERED ONCE AGAIN! Jack Tigh received the kick-off and ran in a dizzying zig-zag pattern for an UNBELIEVABLE 65-yard TD return !! With a score of 38-37, Bellmore, nails were completely bitten. GC had to hold 'em until GC got the ball again for their final drive and hope to score . . . -But, an admittedly beautiful Bellmore pass reception ended Thunder's hopes as the receiver scored. The game ended with Bellmore the victors, 45-37.

This Bellmore ball-carrier is not going anywhere, and is brought down by Thunder Defense.
"How YOU doin? We're the sons of the coaches!" Michael Collins, Drew Magdich, Patrick Gerspach, Brian Goulard, Chris Connolly.
