Author To Speak At Adelphi Adelphi welcomes novelist Steven Post, author of Samsara Moon, for a lecture on November 15, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Blodgett Hall, room 209, 1 South Avenue, Garden City. The event, co-sponsored by Adelphi's Asian Studies Program and the History Society, is free and open to the public. Samsara Moon, Mr. Post's debut novel, is a piece of meticulously researched historical fiction set at the turn of the twentieth century and spanning England, Ireland, South Africa, and India. Born from a strong interest in the period and over 30 years of research, and infused with emotions drawn from the author's own experience of tragic loss, the novel invites the reader to join Captain Stephen Hamilton on his journey through the turmoil of war and the changing landscape of the new century. Reviewers hail Samsara Moon as a poignant saga, rich in history and the evocative settings of the time. Mr. Post maintains an active presence in the literary and arts world through his membership in the Long Island Writers' Guild, NY Writers' Coalition, Hudson Valley Writers' Center, the Islip Arts Council, and the Smithtown Township Arts Council, among others. His passion for history and heritage is supported by his affiliation with the Historical Novel Society as well as the St. George's Society of NY and their long-standing charitable works. His writing directly supports fundraising for the Center for HOPE (grief counseling and children's bereavement) and other causes. He is a graduate of the City University of New York and holds a post-graduate degree from Adelphi University.
