St. Anne's Fifth Grade Girls Basketball Wins Opener

The St. Anne's Fifth Grade Girls Riceman-Berardi team won their opening game on the road at St. Aidan's on October 14th. The team only trailed at the outset 2-0, but led all the way thereafter and was never threatened in route to a 27-14 win. The girls passed, dribbled and played intense defense throughout. They moved the ball around excellently with most of the baskets coming on plays which involved assists. The coaches put together top lineups featuring Tara Marron, Courtney Pursino, Lauren Evola, Joanie Crinnion and Alex Riceman and with the other, Hayley DeSena, Kelly Lawkins, Samantha Berardi, Julia Dignam, and Erin Pfail. The girls rebounded well and made great outlet passes despite having only one practice.
